Programme Description:

This hands-on workshop course is intended for the urologist who wants to gain knowledge on and develop fundamental laparoscopic skills. Participants will use a laparoscopic trainer to become familiar with laparoscopic equipment and practice basic dexterity using laparoscopic instrumentation. Over this 120-minute session, participants will take part in hands-on tasks of increasing difficulty and complexity to develop the basic motor skills required for laparoscopic surgery.

This laparoscopy workshop for beginners will start with an introduction to the laparoscopic simulators and other instruments, allowing participants to familiarize with all workshop equipment. This will be followed by a series of 4 tasks, each focusing on one laparoscopic skill: peg transfer, cutting the circles, needle driving, and suturing. Each task will be led by a faculty, with the assistance of 1 laparoscopic trainer. This workshop is planned include at least 6 laparoscopic trainers in order to accommodate up to 12 participants. Participants will be divided in groups of 2 per laparoscopic trainer/faculty for a ratio of 2:1. The number of participants may be revised depending on the number of laparoscopic trainers available

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, the participants should be able to

• Identify constituents of a laparoscopic stack
• Name commonly used laparoscopic instruments
• Carry out basic laparoscopic exercises using a laparoscopic trainer
• Develop basic motor skills for laparoscopic suturing, including: coordinating proper needle angle and movement, placing the trocars to facilitate the suture, suturing in different planes, and practicing knotting technique

This 45-minute symposium will take the format of a roundtable panel discussion to provide an overview of treatment advances through intravesical drug delivery in bladder cancer.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this symposium, participants should be able to

• Summarize treatment options currently available for patients with NMIBC.
• Recall recent developments and limitations of intravesical treatments for NMIBC, including novel agents and delivery systems.
• Recognize the role of urologists and medical oncologists in NMIBC management.

The course will take participants through an in-depth overview of the basic principles of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) as well as current applications of MRI-ultrasonography (US) fusion-guided biopsies. The faculty will share the latest advances in the field of imaging-guided biopsy. The hands-on training component of the workshop will provide participants with insights into the interpretation and application of MRI-US fusion imaging and how to apply this technology into their practice.

Programme Description:

The workshop will review BPH therapies for office-based treatments of LUTS/BPH, including but not limited to iTind™, HoLEP, Rezūm™, and The hands-on course will provide practical applications of these technologies in terms of equipment, technical approach, and high-level review of clinical data. The faculty will provide first-hand practical instruction on best practices, including patient selection, technique selection, and tips and tricks. The faculty will provide international experience and evidenced-based summaries of the risks and benefits of these procedures to aid with patient counselling for informed consent. This will be a multi-sponsored training workshop.

For this workshop, participants will be divided into working groups. The workshop room will be set up into stations, each focusing on one device/treatment modality. At each station, participants will review the existing evidence and guidelines related to a specific treatment modality for BPH, including patient selection, as well as gain practical skills related to the principles, procedures, and troubleshooting for each device. Experts will be present at each station to guide the knowledge base and hands-on training.
