The Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) is committed to respecting and safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Statement details the types and uses of information collected from site visitors.

Collection and Use of Information

The Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. 

In general, you can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information, unless you:

  • Complete one of our online forms
  • Register or sign into our membership platform
  • Subscribe to an SIU mailing list 

 

The SIU does not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise retransmit any personally identifiable information we collect online without permission.  With your consent, we may use your information to

  • Provide and manage your access to and use of the SIU website
  • Notify you about changes and updates to the SIU and your account
  • Provide you with information about activities and services that you request from SIU
  • Notify you of changes or updates to the SIU website or services

 

We do share information with select partners, as outlined below:

  • SIU event attendees who book hotel accommodations through online registration will have their information shared with their chosen hotel to facilitate the reservation process.
  • SIU event abstract poster presenters will have limited contact information (name, affiliation, email) shared with MultiLearning Group for publication of the posters online and at the SIU congress
  •  App users will have their email address shared with EventMobi  to log into the app and view online sessions.
  • SIU Academy users will have their email address shared with MultiLearning Group to view content.

We collect images and videos for the use of continuing medical education and event promotion during the annual SIU Congress. 

By entering the venue for an SIU Congress, both virtual and in-person, you consent to being photographed, filmed, and/or otherwise recorded. Your entry constitutes consent to such photography, filming, and/or recording and to any use, in all media throughout the universe in perpetuity, of your appearance, voice, and name for any purpose whatsoever in connection with the Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU) Congress, SIU@U, or SIU Academy. You understand that all photography, filming, and/or recording will be done in reliance on this consent given by you upon entering the event venue. If you do not agree to the foregoing, please do not enter this area.

Disclosure of Information

The SIU will not disclose personal information that you provide on its sites to any third parties other than to a Company agent except: i) in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, or ii) to comply with legal requirements such as a law, regulation, warrant, subpoena, or court order. Please note that any of these disclosures may involve the storage or processing of personal information outside of Canada and may therefore be subject to different privacy laws than those applicable in Canada, including laws that require the disclosure of personal information to governmental authorities under circumstances that are different than those that apply in Canada.


E-mail notices: If you subscribed to receive web updates or an e-newsletter, you will be placed on a list to receive periodic communications from the SIU. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" button found at the end of each email sent or by sending an email to [email protected]. 

Please note that all SIU members will automatically receive communications relevant to the functioning of the Society, such as dues reminders, call for nominations, and bylaw updates. However, to set your preferences regarding announcements related to non-essential communications concerning SIU initiatives and activities (new programmes, events, etc.), please log into your membership profile via siu-urology.org to update your file.

Online monetary transactions: All credit card information will be sent using our secure server (Moneris and Nuvei provide secure, online, real time credit card processing) and cannot be observed by a third party. We value your information and your privacy and have taken steps to assure that your data is secure with the SIU and that this information is kept confidential.  In addition to the security of our online payment providers, the Société Internationale d’Urologie Central Office is also PCI Compliant.

Visitor statistics: The SIU also collects generic information about visitors to its website. This information does not identify you personally. It includes your Internet domain name, the type of browser and operating system used, the web pages you access, country, and the portal from another website (referring website). This information is necessary for you to be able to view the SIU website pages. The SIU collects this information to have a record of the number of visitors to the SIU site, the pages visited most often, the technology used by the visitor, and the country of origin of visitors.

Links to third-party websites are provided solely for your information and convenience. If you use these links, you will leave our site. The SIU is not responsible for the content or privacy policies on these other websites. We suggest that you carefully read the privacy policies of each site you visit.
